Difficult times call for proven leadership.
As your Assemblyman, I will continue to help our communities overcome the COVID-19 pandemic and lead the way to economic recovery, while delivering on healthcare reform, relief from the opioid crisis, and common-sense environmental legislation to combat climate change.
The Leader We Trust
- Leading the way on COVID-19 Recovery – by ensuring relief for small business owners, homeowners and workers who bore the brunt of the pandemic, as well as securing funds to combat food insecurity where it is most needed.
- Working with the Public Service Commission to investigate recent surge pricing in our electric utility rates.
- Delivering for our communities on health care by authorizing landmark legislation to ensure family planning coverage without unreasonable restrictions.
- Fighting for affordable housing and to keep our neighbors in their homes. Leading the charge on rent relief and eviction/foreclosure moratoriums.
- Fighting for greater transparency in government and economic development programs
- Secured $52M in funding for three Mid-Hudson bridge projects
- Passed the most aggressive climate change law in the nation to make New York the leader on environmental protections

Kevin Cahill is the Right Leader for Our Communities:
Kevin Cahill has been a gift to all his constituents by serving our needs and advancing good public policy. As a long term Assembly member, he has earned the respect of colleagues who, in turn, have chosen him to Chair several committees. Legislators value his leadership and policy innovation. Likewise, constituents are thankful for and appreciative of his responsiveness; attention to problems and their solutions; and his hard work on our behalf.
I am supporting Kevin because he so clearly understands that his first responsibility is to his constituents and their communities. His first question is always ‘What can I do for you?
Like him or not, Cahill, D-Kingston, is real, imperfect like the rest of us and always close to the people. He’s a unique politician you can’t buy.
Mr. Cahill and Ms. Parete worked tirelessly for months, advocating on my behalf with the New York State Education Department. Without their efforts to right a bureaucratic mistake, I would have lost my teaching position and a 25-year career as a public educator.
I want to thank Ulster County Executive Pat Ryan, state Assemblyman Kevin Cahill, D-Kingston, and state Sen. Michelle Hinchey, D-Saugerties, along with about 100 staff members from Kingston Hospital for telling us the truth about what’s going on with all the people that were fired, including me.
A lifelong resident of Kingston and the proud father of two young women, Mr. Cahill signifies the precise definition of a public servant, with close ties to the community and an uncompromising interest in local issues. Standing up for the rights of consumers, community organizations, taxpayers, local businesses and more, Assemblymember Cahill’s dedication to the region is far-reaching.
